We’re seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineering Technician to support our engineers in our Des Moines IA office with CAD/BIM modeling, drafting, plan development, and detailing for mechanical systems. You'll assist with code reviews, submittals, site visits, and construction-phase services. What you will do:
Project Support & Scheduling
Track assigned tasks, manage priorities, and work within established timelines and budgets; proactively communicate task status and any project concerns.
Drafting & Modeling
Create detailed drawings and models using Revit, Civil3D, and CAD software based on design sketches, notes, and verbal direction; ensure compliance with company standards.
Field Work & Site Observations
Perform field investigations and construction site observations to collect relevant data during all phases of a project, including pre-, active, and post-construction.
Construction Administration Support
Assist with submittal and shop drawing reviews, change orders, pay applications, and punch lists; support pre-construction meetings and job progress tracking.
Quality Assurance
Conduct self-reviews of work for completeness and accuracy; maintain high standards of quality by treating all deliverables as final-ready products.
What you bring:
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in Mechanical, HVAC or Electrical Engineering Technology (or related field) preferred
Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience with a high school diploma, or 2 years with an associate degree
Experience or training in BlueBeam, Revit, AutoCad, Civil3D, Microsoft Office products and other applications.
Strong verbal and written communication skills for both internal collaboration and external coordination
Ability to manage multiple assignments, complete tasks accurately and on time, and shift priorities as needed
Capable of working independently and in a team environment, with strong problem-solving and adaptability skills
