Overview

MSA has an opportunity for a Real Estate Assistant in our Baraboo, WI office. We are looking for a detailed oriented and highly motivated individual with excellent organizational skills to assist with our growing real estate team. You will have the opportunity to be involved in the process to acquire various real estate interests required for Wisconsin transportation, municipal projects, and be involved in property management for WisDOT. This listing is for our Madison, WI office location.

Responsibilities

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Assist the Department with their Property Management program
  • Complete various administrative functions relating to Wisconsin public agency real estate and design projects
  • Set up and maintain files that document all relevant project and property
  • Research resource material in preparation for negotiations including current title to property.
  • Verify legal descriptions and other legal documents.
  • Draft documents necessary for the real estate negotiations including letters, agreements, conveyances, etc..
  • File documents required for property acquisitions.
  • Data Entry of property specific information into WisDOT READS system.
  • Perform review of real estate related letters, documents, reports etc. for quality control.
  • Completion of various reports and/or spreadsheets required to track progress and status
  • Assist with and perform office related administrative duties and other related work as assigned or as apparent.
  • Interpret and explain right of way plats and construction plans to individual property owners, or for preparation of Real Estate Documents
  • Negotiations just compensation settlements of nominal value with property owners
  • With with internal and external clients such as teammates, project managers, leaders, review agencies, appraisers, clients, and more

Qualifications

WHAT YOU BRING
Skills & Knowledge / Education & Experience:

  • A desire to work in a consulting environment required
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Administrative assistance experience required
  • Ability to interpret Title Reports and identify parties of interest in real property 
  • Advanced skills in MS office: word, excel, teams
  • Willing to learn new software applications
  • Previous real estate related experience is preferred
  • Interpersonal skills for facilitating relationships with team staff, colleagues, and clients/public stakeholders
  • Valid drivers license
  • Ability to obtain Notary Public
  • This position requires you to have authorization to work in the United States for any employer. We will not provide sponsorship for this position.
